E-Bot Technology ("we", "us", or "our") operates the UK Fuel Price Checker mobile application, available on Android and iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We keep this simple and jargon-free — if anything is unclear, please contact us.
Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data needed to provide the fuel-price service. We do not create user accounts, and we do not collect your name, email address, or payment details.

Location Data With your explicit permission, we access your device's GPS coordinates to find petrol stations near you. Location data is used solely to query the nearest stations and is not stored on our servers after your search is complete.

Technical Data We may collect your IP address, device type (e.g. Android / iPhone), operating system version, and app version number for performance monitoring and security purposes. This data is anonymised where possible.

User Input Any postcode or address you manually type into the search field is used to perform your search. This is not linked to your identity and is not retained after the search result is returned.
Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we must have a valid legal basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:

How We Use Your Data
We use the data described above exclusively to:

Display real-time fuel prices from the UK Government's official Fuel Finder open data scheme, sourced from gov.uk.

Provide directions to the petrol station of your choice via your device's default maps application. Directions data is handled by your maps provider (Apple Maps or Google Maps), not by us.

Monitor app performance and security to ensure a reliable, safe experience.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
To provide the service, your search queries (location or postcode) are sent to the UK Government Fuel Finder API. This is a public open-data service operated by the UK government. No personal identifiers are sent — only the coordinates or postcode needed to return nearby results.
If you use the directions feature, you will be handed off to Apple Maps or Google Maps, each of which has its own privacy policy. We have no control over data processed by those services once you leave our app.
We do not use third-party analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) that would collect persistent identifiers from your device.
Data Retention
We retain data for the minimum period necessary:

Location & search queries — not retained. Data is used in real time to fetch results and then discarded.

Technical / diagnostic logs — retained for up to 30 days for crash investigation, then automatically deleted.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a UK data subject, you have the following rights. You can exercise any of them by contacting us — we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect any data in transit, including TLS encryption for all network requests. The app does not store sensitive personal data on-device beyond your session.
Despite our best efforts, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have concerns about a specific security issue, please contact us immediately.
Children's Privacy
The UK Fuel Price Checker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the app or our legal obligations. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
